As Nashville and Birmingham wedding videographers, we get to film at some amazing venues. One of our favorite styles time and time again is the garden wedding. We love a classic garden wedding! So, today on the blog we are sharing the best garden wedding venues in the Birmingham area. Are you considering a wedding outside Birmingham, but want a garden wedding? Aldridge Gardens is at the top of our list for garden wedding venues in the Birmingham area. Located just off Interstate 65 in Hoover, Alabama, Aldridge Gardens opened in 2002. It is a 30-acre former property of well-known horticulturist Eddie Aldridge and his wife, Kay. The garden showcases hydrangeas, including the Snowflake Hydrangea, which was patented by Mr. Aldridge and is now the official flower of the City of Hoover.
Aldrige Gardens has multiple ceremony locations to fit any size wedding from an intimate ceremony to a large 200 person wedding. The garden also features a stunning wooden pavilion, which is the perfect location for your wedding reception.

Park Crest Event Facility, located just south of Birmingham, is referred to by many as the “gateway to Hoover.” The Park Crest property is tucked atop a mountain in Hoover, Alabama. The property served as collection of restaurants until it was transformed into an immaculate event venue. The venue is perfect for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and private events. Through a large renovation, beautiful gardens were added to the property that accentuate its stunning views of Shades Mountain, reminiscent of the mountain views seen in Colorado, the Smoky Mountains, and the Carolinas. The gardens offer outdoor ceremony and reception options, and the private Park Crest Place is available for indoor events.
Mathews Manor first opened as a wedding and event space in 2001 and now features three unique venue spaces for couples to choose from. The garden option is called Rebecca’s Garden
Rebecca’s Garden can seat up to 300 for an outdoor ceremony at the 20-foot white gazebo. Throughout the gardens, you will find peaceful waterfall features as well as additional seating for guests around the great oak tree. Rebecca’s Garden accommodates reception areas under their spacious pavilion. The garden also features a brand new bride and groom’s room, complete with lounging areas.
Last on our list, Douglas Manor is a family owned and operated event venue. Douglas Manor is situated on 32 wooded acres with beautiful lake and pond sites. The venue has a 9,000 square foot indoor facility with a large built-in bar, a stage, dressing rooms, and a kitchen. With so many settings, they can offer many options for your indoor and outdoor celebrations.
