Iron City Birmingham Wedding | Kaitlin & Michael

Kaitlin and Michael had a gorgeous wedding at Iron City in Birmingham, Alabama. Their day was so special, from the stunning florals to the packed dance floor! Getting to know these two, the story behind their love, and the planning process for their wedding day makes their film even more special! So, read more about them below and watch the happiest day of their lives!!

“It was such an honor and privilege to capture their wedding and craft their perfect film. We wish you two, Kaitlin and Michael, the absolute best! Thank you for trusting us to be a part of the day that started your forever.” – Hunter and Madison

How did you two meet?

Michael and I met during the summer of 2014 in Orange Beach, Alabama. We both made a last-minute decision to spend the summer there, and it was the best last-minute decision we ever made. We met, and we had an instant connection.

How did he propose?

Every year Michael and I go to the Alabama Theater at Christmas time to watch “It’s A Wonderful Life.” This past year, before the movie began, Michael had a message pop up on the screen asking me to spend the rest of our wonderful life together. Then he got down on one knee in front of 2,000 people.

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

We envisioned a ceremony that gave all the glory to God surrounded by our friends and family. We wanted everyone to dance the night away, and we did just that! Our vision for the decor: we wanted greenery, drapes, and anything related to Birmingham.

What was your color palette and style vision?

Sage, champagne, navy. We wanted a boho/industrial themed wedding, and Iron City was a perfect venue.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

We loved having Steel City Pops instead of having two cakes. Having one cake and then popsicles was so fun for everyone!

What was your favorite moment?

Dancing with our friends and family.

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be?

Take in every moment. Don’t let the small things get you down. Not everything will go perfect, but it will all be perfect in the end. Be present with your groom. Keep in mind the day is about your lifelong marriage, not just the flowers, guests, food, etc.

“Our wedding was an absolute dream!” – Kaitlin and Michael
